What is Copernicus Sentinel-5P Satellite?
Copernicus Sentinel-5P satellite, with its high spatial resolution and accurate ability to observe trace gases, allows for the generation of unique nitrogen dioxide concentration measurements from space.
Basically, it generates a map showing pollution density along a specific place.
Reason behind Pollution Drop
The coronavirus outbreak was declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization, and has since stated that the disease is ‘accelerating’. In order to control and pause the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak, countries across the world are implementing strict measures – placing cities and even entire countries on lockdown.
The Factories are turned OFF.
Small or Medium Level Enterprises are OFF.
Public Transport is OFF.
Industries OFF.
So with such big OFFs situated with almost everything, There is nothing ON to pollute. Thus, there is a stunning drop in pollution noticed. Actually, this is the time where "Earth is under Maintenance".
