Why Jupiter doesn't orbit the Sun?

Jupiter, the fifth planet from the Sun is so huge that it doesn't orbit the Sun. Jupiter's mass is 2.5 times of the mass of all other planets combined. So, its enough big that the center of gravity doesn't reside inside the sun, rather at a different point.

The Reason

Let's look up at Science. Whenever a small object orbits a bigger one in space, the lesser one doesn't reside perfect circle but both of them orbits around a combined center of gravity.

When the Earth revolves around the sun which is much larger than the Earth, then the center of gravity lies so close to Sun that it doesn't seem to move. But the reality is different.

When the International Space Station orbits the Earth, both of them orbit around their combined center of gravity. But that center of gravity is so close to the center of the Earth that it doesn't seem moving.

The same reason holds for almost all the planets orbiting the Sun but not so with the Jupiter. Jupiter, the gas giant is so big that the center of gravity lies 1.07 solar radii from the middle of the sun. Well, that's the barycenter. I don't wanna use that term but I used it.

The Challenge

So, here's a challenge for you guys. Define Barycenter and its interesting concepts in the comments section below. We will add them to our next post. We will only add if your information will be true.

The End Notes

If a star has planets, the star orbits around a barycenter that is not at its very center. This causes the star to look like it’s wobbling. That's all in this post. I will post more soon. Please comment below and share your views.

Cheers!
